This museum quality, highly detailed, expert level, Friesland tall ship model is Brand New, fully assembled and ready for display (not a kit).
This tall ship model was specially designed & built by the plank on frame method (joining multiple small pieces of wood like Rosewood, Mahogany, Teak and other exotic tropical wood together on the hull). The tall ship model is built exactly to scale as the original Friesland was with many details. The task required skillful craftsmen hundreds of hours to accomplish.
The Friesland a frigate, was a second rank vessel built around 1663, she was part of the great fleet of the United Provinces of Holland, which consisted of 1700 ships. She was outfitted with 80 guns.
In 1672, along side 77 other war ships and under the command of De Ruyter’s, who was on board the admiral ship "Zeven Provincen" it took part in the battle of Solebay with the allied Anglo French forces.
The model measures 37" long from bow to stern. It's a beautiful ship model that will be conversation piece for any room or office.
